The St. Louis Regional Bicycle Federation Receives $10,000 Challenge Grant

William A. Kerr Foundation to match dollar for dollar donations up to $10,000

ST. LOUIS, MO (September 5, 2007) –  The St. Louis Bicycle Federation received an up to $10,000 challenge grant from the William A. Kerr Foundation.  The Foundation will match all donations, dollar for dollar, made to the Bike Fed between July 1, 2007 and December 30, 2007.

The grant will support the efforts of the Bike Fed to make the St. Louis region a more friendly, safe and accessible place for people on bicycles.  In addition, the funding will be used for ongoing Bike Fed operations and projects.  To date, the Bike Fed has received $2,161 in donations which will be matched by the William A. Kerr Foundation.

“It is my hope that this grant will encourage cyclists to contribute to the ongoing efforts of the Bike Fed,” said John Sweet, Treasurer, William A. Kerr Foundation.  “Our goal is to help make the communities in which we live and work safer places for cyclists.  This is one way we can come together to help improve the quality of life of our region.”
