St. Louis Regional Bicycle Federation
Receives $10,000 Challenge Grant
William A. Kerr Foundation to match dollar for
dollar donations up to $10,000
ST. LOUIS,
MO (September 5, 2007) –
The
St. Louis Bicycle Federation received an up
to $10,000 challenge grant from the William A. Kerr
Foundation. The Foundation will match all
donations, dollar for dollar, made to the Bike Fed
between July 1, 2007 and December 30, 2007.
The grant will support the efforts of the Bike Fed
to make the
St. Louis region a more friendly, safe and
accessible place for people on bicycles. In
addition, the funding will be used for ongoing Bike
Fed operations and projects. To date, the Bike Fed
has received $2,161 in donations which will be
matched by the William A. Kerr Foundation.
“It is my hope that this grant will encourage
cyclists to contribute to the ongoing efforts of the
Bike Fed,” said John Sweet, Treasurer, William A.
Kerr Foundation. “Our goal is to help make the
communities in which we live and work safer places
for cyclists. This is one way we can come together
to help improve the quality of life of our region.”
