Steven has a 51 and a 49 will be coming soon to rent. In an earlier post he mentioned that the bikes are free for Jr's. But he would need to get a 1-day license to race. Recommend getting a license if he really likes it. The training series are free and would be a casual way to get involved in a no pressure atmosphere. All I can say is, be prepared for him to ask to get a track bike soon after he rides it a few times. Mr Bumpy face does leave that kind of impression.

Northwest Coffee, Feb 6th - what time?

Andrew and I have some new developments to share, Switch helped launch penroseparkvelo.com, and we are looking to build PR support, flyers and a local team that will help promote the track. I'm very interested in this team being involved in Monday night training rides (not practice races) that will be open for anyone new coming into the sport. Especially Jr's interested. We can use the bikes Mike Weiss donated for people to borrow.

Exciting to see that all of us who love the track will come together and help keep the racing and spirit alive.

Congrats Mark, goes without saying that it's because of folks like you that make our cycling community in STL so successful. We are way spoiled and you deserve much more than a few words of thanks. You help out in so many ways and the Wed Night TT series is fantastic. I know a ton of folks that don't miss it for the world. Not to mention you running this site for all of us to stay connected with the cycling world. Wishing you all the best, and a promising and exciting 2013. Cheers!

FYI - we are close to launching a Penrose Park Velo website. It's in the final stages of deployment, and this site is specifically designed to appeal to the wide range of riders. From Juniors, women, newbies and the enthusiast. We have track history, tips etc. As well as race information, rules etc. Once it's up I'll post on STL and have Mark help promote it on this site. We will also ask USAC have the link to Penrose point to this new site. In addition to this attempt. We have established a branding for our beloved track which we are also going to try to get some signage up. This again, are all efforts to help promote the track and its benefit to the STL community in efforts to secure funding to help build us a new track. We were planning on making a flier where we can use to attract new riders as well as give to folks that race out of town to help promote the track here in STL as well as attract more talent from other areas to participate in our State Competitions.
