A little late to the call, but here's my 2 cents.  My son spent last summer in Chicago and dropped ATT 3G in favor of Verizon 3G.  ATT was either dropping calls or getting no service in the concrete canyon.  Other ex-ATT users told him to go with Verizon.  Advance to last month, he and I drove a moving van from Omaha to Seattle taking I-80 straight to Salt Lake and then heading north.  My ATT 4G was 'no service' everywhere except major towns.  His Verizon 3G was full bars or maybe one down the entire trip. Check the service maps of 4G vs 3G.  If you got to have speed in the city, 4G is probably better.  If you can handle slower rates in the city but still get great coverage then 3G may be the route to take.  And if you move to Chicago switch to Verizon.

Other than the cool factor or worn parts why change?  You wouldn't use the 30 in a tri and you won't use a 53 at babler (unless you're trying to break 50 mph).  I went from a 28-39-53 to a 53-39 to a 50-34.  The 53-39 have me the best gear spacing. If you don't have a 53-39 on your triple try changing to that for a bit.  You can take the inner gear off for cool and 30 gram of weight savings.

+2 on Lezyne.  My floor and frame pump have thread-on chucks and I haven't trashed a presta valve in the last 4 years.  Before Lezyne I'd break at least one  and bend another every season.
