I quit as a Junior Category 3 racer for 6 years in the late 80s and early 90s, and I was still a Cat. 3 when I came back, but this was in 1994. I think they've changed all license numbers from the 1980s and early 1990s and sort of wiped the slate clean, so to speak. I think you might have to start all over again as a 5--but you still might want to call the USCF to make sure.

Yeah, I think that's what happened to all the files--I mean, I remember when licenses were these huge green paper cards that were obviously not computer generated, maybe even hand typed? This was back in the day when Howard Althoff was district rep, etc. . .

My old licenses went out with my old Sisters of Mercy tapes and Mark Gorski posters (sorry, Mark, but we all must move on ;), so I had to receive a new, big number with my new license! :(

You're a masters racer after 30, however...in my day (when I was 15), the masters were the old farts who were slow and the seniors were smokin'. Nowadays, those seniors are now masters and enjoy smokin' the masters races, so don't go racing masters expecting an easy time (right, Mr. Kennedy!).
