I think Mike W. designed a course to totally trash our bikes so we'd have to buy more gear from him.  I've never seen so many riders bail with mechanicals.  He should have thrown in a sand pit.

Bobber, get those pics up - I want to see the expression on my face up the wall of pain and suffering!

I will have some pics up tomorrow.  We went out for dinner last night and I was totally trashed when I got home so I didn't have time to put anything up.  Did get some good shots of the wall though.  That thing was a reall killer.  I was totally shocked to see Amy taking it sitting down!  She must of had a pretty big gear on the back!

that was a great course given all the rain that we had.  tricky and technical.  i feels more like cx when it gets a little muddy.  i hope no one got hurt going down, but it sure does throw in an extra skill when you not only have to ride, but also figure out a way to keep upright (especially the root section and the off camber sweeping turn)

thanks to mike w. and nate and johnny and everyone else you put on a great series this fall.  i appreciate all the time spent to allow us to race on the weekends.

Thanks.  Fun series.

After the race, I simply replied to Mike Weiss that I really liked the Bianchi bag and asked where I could get one.  And he GAVE one to me!  Thanks, Mike.  And I was told to thank also Eric Pirtle.  Thanks.
Also......we've all seen racers finish with torn shorts with their bum hanging out.  Such was the case with me on Sun.  But I was wondering as I was racing if there is a UCI rule regarding one's dangly bits hanging out?  Not sure of any ruling and feeling humble, I stopped to repair my shorts with the safety pins from my number (thanks Carla Ferrel) and finished the race looking like Johnny Rotten circa 1977 in his bondage trousers.  And my bare back looks like I had a good time with some long-nailed vixen, but I can only blame it on that old, low-hanging pine tree.

I gave my shorts a good ripping the week before.. My immediate family members decided it was too cold that day and opted to stay hidden under the pup tent.  In the warmth yesterday, you probably did not have that option.

Those branches gave me hell yesterday. With 2 laps to go I caught one in the eye. I've ridden better drunk on Triple Berry Passion than with that stick in my eye. I just started seeing straight by the time I got to the barriers and I hit the first one. My chain defied physics and went under the third eye chain watcher. After many attempts to put the chain back on, I stupidly decided my bike needed a good toss. Broken seats have to be replaced.  If Butthead wouldn't have dissed us by going to IA, I would have tossed him instead. It's his fault.

CrossRick and I were watching a guy on a MTB in the B's grind up the wall when his drivetrain seized.  His chain had wedged so far down between the big cog and spokes it was bent sideways and had bent the spokes inward.  We helped him try to extract it but it was no use.  I hope that wasn't the end of his wheel.

Photos are up .  If it seems slow, come back later.  Sorry about that but it's just a wee little PII server in my basement.  All my spare income goes to race fees and bike stuff so getting a nice new AMD Opteron based server with a RAID array will have to wait (a long time).  Enjoy!

Scot Van Asten, he races for OCC on the road.  He is a really strong guy.

Hey Bobber:
Some shots of the 'B' race are some of the
best cycling photography I have seen. Strong
work. Thanks also to Mike W. and the team
for a great season with some really interesting
coarses.

Rick,
Thanks!  I was actually a little disapointed in last weeks photos so I tried to do a little better this week.  I really like panning shots, they are great when you get them right but when you have to prefocus, it makes it even harder to do well.  I didn't do so many of those this week.  Maybe you are refering to the barrier shots?  I thought those turned out well in both the B and the A races.  Thanks again for the input.

I'm looking forward to seeing some of the shots that Phil got too.

Oh, and thanks to Jim Klages for doing the C race photos a few times this season.  Unfortunately he wasn't there early enough this Sunday but my buddy Jamie did a decent job and I thought he got some got shots of the wall.
