Cycling photographer Graham Watson has a really nice tribute going on.  The early years are stuff that many of us may have not seen.  Check it out...

Seeing those "early years" pictures reminds me of what a choad he once was, and how things utterly changed after 1997 in his attitude toward life and the press.

i met lance and kevin livingston at the tour de gruene in texas in '96. tour de gruene was a 25 mile 2 man TT. kevin and lance were parked back behind this building. i saw them ride by our team van and followed them back to where they were parked. lance was total cool to me and so was kevin. i never noticed him being a choad.

i think the comment about bieng a chode was dealing with his body.
