I have two new things going on and not sure which is giving me a headache. I use the new Quarq Rikken and I recently updated my Garmin 310xt, which functions much the same as the Edge 500. Before these changes I would get power and cadence almost instantly and now it seams to average it over 3 seconds. It is not a huge deal but on very short efforts I like to see accurate data. Quarq's tech support said it was likely the garmin causing this, any suggestions?

Has Garmin changed power/cadence to 3" avg?

two things:
1. it's likely the garmin; the 500 can select power displayed in many ways, including 3s average
2. in efforts short enough that a 3s avg would change the displayed value, why are you looking at the display in the first place? those should be sprint-type efforts, in which case looking at your display is looking away from where you should be looking, i.e., in front of you.
Save data analysis for afterwards, at the computer, as you savor a delicious bite of food.
