Hey I'm looking for a good moderate to fast paced group ride around Ladue and Clayton this coming weekend? I'm from out of town and I always ride STL alone and see groups going by just don't know where they start.. I'll be leaving from Lindberg and Warson RD...
Anybody have any ideas and wouldn't mind if I join you?
Thanks
Chris

Chris - there are a few, you may have to dig around in this website a bit. But here are two well known rides you could join:
The Hub (on Lockwood in downtown Webster Groves): Saturday, 7:30 AM start, about 28 miles, 19 - 20 mph overall average
Knucklehead (on parking lot at the Northeast corner of Clayton and Hanley, in Clayton), Sunday, 7:00 AM start. There is a short route (40 miles?) and a longer route (65 miles?). Pace is casual (17 mph) for about the first hour, then ups to about 20 the rest of the way.
The last one is the Big Shark ride that leaves from Big Shark on Delmar in University City. You would have to call the shop, I don't know the details.

Chris - there's a fast ride that leaves from The Hub Bicycle Shop in Webster Groves at 7:30 on Saturday. You can join the ride on Clayton at Geyer at about 7:50 if you don't want to ride all the way into Webster.

Also, the knucklehead ride leaves from the old Schnucks parking lot (now empty building) on the corner of Clayton and Hanley at 7AM on Sun. they are a punctual crew. Short loop is ~40 miles, long loop is a bit over 60. Fast paced on the way back, but the role out is mellow.
The hub ride and the knucklehead ride are the 2 best group rides of the wkends.

Today rode the knucklehead long ride. Really loved all of the climbs and folks attacking hard. Thanks again for having me along this weekend. Will be back for sure.
