Very similar to the previous years. The race course direction will be counterclockwise, the same direction as the last 2 years. A section of the race course that is currently closed will be re-opened in the next couple of days for pre-riding and for the race day.

We basically reopened the loop today.  Some of it will be completely new and some we just mowed the grass and the single track is just as it was.  The start and first 2/3 of the loop are basically the same, if you follow the trail without taking any short cuts, it will get you there.  When you approach the point where the trail was closed/redirected, in one of the field crossings, we have now reopened it.  Proceed down the mowed path, cross the wet creek, ride across the new road bed and follow the pin flags.  There isn't much in the way of grass yet but I mowed it short so you can't miss it.  You will ride down by Betty's Lake and jump into a wooded section briefly.  This was tall grass and has been scalped so no markers needed.  When you come out follow the pin flags turning to the left and climb up briefly then reconnect with the old trail.  Soon you will be back at the big oak tree, turning right there will take you back down to the finish of the lap.

Here is a rough map.  I don't claim this map as my own....  More mowing will be done Wednesday and better marking as well.  The problem is we can't officially mark the course until Saturday and even if we did, the markers would get torn down.  The loop will be as long or slightly longer than last year.

With the exception of a few intersections that we cannot block until Sunday, the race loop at Broemmelsiek is basically marked.  Enough people have been riding it to burn in a line in the newer areas and everything has been mowed or trimmed back.  To ride the loop go all the way back to the last pavilion on the right and head in the woods on the service road, stay to the right and follow the most traveled path.  It was very dry today so I hope the little rain we got helped things out.  You will see several places where we've installed t-posts but there isn't any tape up yet.

The kids will start at the big oak tree at the top of the two track hill.  They will do a short field section and go into the woods not making any turns off of the normal course until after they come back out into the longest field section, near the top of this section they will descend back down to the big oak tree through a shortcut.  I will be looking for someone to lead the kids race and someone to sweep behind the kids race as well as a few eyes to help with their scoring(Moms do a great job at this!)

Hope to see everyone out there!  Remember the earlier start times.  If it is really hot, we may lower the loop count by one for Cat 1 and Cat 2.
