There is no classes based on the bike you ride. Only A, B, C. I've lost to singlespeeds while riding gears. Others like a certain Team Seagal rider, Casey F. Ryback (President of the Criss Angel fanclub,) likes to find the oldest hybrid he can and race that. Bottom line, ride what you want.
If you sign up for B and get smoked you can move down. Then regroup and then move back up later. Also handling skills are good to have, but having handling skills, in a pack, in a race at max pace is a different animal. You can move up or down from one week to another. Also since there is chip timing you should be able to review you laptimes and compare them to others in the A, B, and C races. Lap #1 is always slow, but laps 2-xxx show good comparisions.

The Valley Park trail is probably 95% complete. We have been turning laps on it for a week or so. We still have a couple spots we are going to change, hopefully this weekend. It is 1.25 miles in length, I lapped it in 6:14 tonight, which means fast laps will probably be around 5:30. We need wheels on it to help bed the trail.
The park is located at 1135 Pyramid dr, Valley Park. Look for the Meramec Valley Recreation Park sign. Turn in, go past the archery range, and proceed to the parking lot at the boat ramp. The trail entry is on the north east corner of the parking lot.The outer loop is for the adults, the shorter loop is for the kiddies, and CX bikes.

Rode the new trail for the first time last night and it was awesome. The crits are going to be a lot of fun, fast laps and a good mix of flow and technical sections. Thanks to everyone who has been working on the build!

Just a friendly reminder, registration at last year's prices closes 6-2-13 at 11:59 PM. You have 8 days left, and then registration is onsite only at $30/20 per race. Make our lives easy, save yourself some $$$ and go here:

Also, Valley Park has taken shape, some loser (Bobelak) even started a Strava segment... Last I checked Rock put down a 5:50. Go to 1135 Pyramid Dr, 63088, Meramec Levee Recreation Park. Proceed back to the boat ramp parking lot . At the Northwest corner of the lot, where the bicycle trail exits towards 141, look for the clearing, go 10 feet north, and go left or right as you see fit. I am going to try to get out this weekend to do final prep before the races (trimming and weed killing).
BEER IS BYOB--- NO GLASS AT EITHER LOCATION.
