Mesa Cycles is putting on a women’s mountain bike ride series for 2013.  These women specific rides will encompass many of our local trails.  The ride is the 3rd Sunday of each month.  The trail locations have been tentatively scheduled based on “normal” weather conditions and the trail’s ability to handle the current weather.  I’ve tried to schedule trails that have a poor chance of rideability due to wetness for the summer months.

These rides are designed to take women to trails that they might have never ridden before.  The rides are considered no drop – meaning we ride to the ability of the riders.  If we have all newbies then we go at a newbie pace.  If we have experienced riders then we go at their pace.  The ride pace is determined the morning of the ride.  We will meet at the trailhead each month, and I will post specific directions on stlbiking and our facebook page.  Ride times will be determined per weather.

Each rider needs to have a working mountain bike and helmet to participate.  In addition, the rider needs to dress appropriate for weather conditions with water, snacks and necessary flat fixing items.  All questions can be directed to me at Mesa Cycles – Traci 314-645-4447.

Here is our tentative schedule:
    1/20 – Lost Valley
    2/17 – Cliff Cave
    3/17 – Castlewood
    4/21 – Creve Coeur
    5/19 – Broemmelsiek
    6/16 – Bangart Island
    7/21 – SIUE
    8/18 – Matson
    9/15 – Greensfelder
    10/20 – Chubb
    11/17 – Berryman
    12/15 – Lost Valley
