Picked up a giant defy 5 at south county cyclery tonight! First road bike for me! I jumped on it and rode just about 10 miles!!!! Feels great. I probably rode it around the parking lot a mile before purchasing it lol. I'm so happy!

Rode over 15 miles today on it! Feels amazing, I'm so used to riding mountain bikes that its been hard to get used to something that feels almost delicate. I'm afraid I'm going to break the thing lol

Boxers are amazing dogs but I question their bike judgement.  Mine just barks and tries to bite the tires as I bring them out of the basement for a ride.  She might be jealous that we're going for a ride instead of taking her for a run.

lmfao ya his judgement is a little off. He sees me put my iphone arm band on to go for a jog or bike ride and goes ballistic lol He actually wont let me ride my atv's around without trying to bite tires and make a huge fuss. Bicycles he is a little more ok with, maybe because of the noise thing. Who knows.

Giant makes a great bike.  I know some of the people at South County Cycle.  Great group of people.  I like the guys at South City Cycle.  they are connected, so you can count on great service.  what kind of driveline do you have?

Thats an amazing question lol I am still learning as this is a new hobby for me. I have shimano components, and then whatever driveline came with it from Giant. I am in love with this though. I flipped the stem and slammed the kneck down. For no reason at all. I am doing my absolute best to get into shape and gain as much flexibility as possible and from what I understand lowering the bars helps with this. I have been fine so far but really only put about 25 miles on it since I lowered the bars Sunday.

I have put just around 70 miles on it so far, i love it! Its my first road bike but I have been doing 12 + mile rides quite frequently. Discovered Strava, i have been tracking my miles and specs with that, sweet app ;)

Any way a mod can just merge my J450N name with my Facebook username ? Just wondering. Thanks!

Sounds like you either have the Shimano 105, or the Shimano Tiagra.  I had the Tiagra on my 2011 Trek 1.5 and loved it.  I have since upgraded to a 2011 Trek Madone 5.2 with the full Ultegra setup.  Hit me up sometime when you what to go pounding some pavement.
