Well everybody there are just two more weeks of official racing, this one and the next. I will be back next week. I am planning on holding practice nights on the 30th of August and 6th of September.

Until then here is what's on tap for this week...





Schedule for August 16th


Round One Scratch races
Women 5 Laps   Laps may be changed longer or shorter by each group.
Men A’s 7 Laps
Men B’s 6 Laps
Men C’s 5 Laps

Round Two Miss n Out
Women Single or double elimination TBD at start.
Men A’s All groups will be reduced to the last 2 riders.
Men B’s Those left will have 3 laps to finish.
Men C’s

Round Three Unknown Distance
Women All races in this round will be between 8 and 22 laps
Men A’s
Men B’s
Men C’s

Round Four(?)  Handicap, Crawl or Chariot races
Groups to be determined by interest and remaining daylight.


This schedule was generated so to make it easy to score by the officials there. As always events may be changed.




And for all of those patient souls there here is a cut and paste of the State Championship flyer...

Individual and ominium championships. Riders competing for the ominium must declare so when registering. Riders not registered for the ominium do not have to start all events.

Racing will be held on the 8th and 9th of September. All registration will be on site and during the days of the event. Registration opens at 8:00 am and closes 15 minutes prior to each event. Ominium registration closes at 8:50 am, Saturday the 8th September.  Racing begins at 9:00 am both days. Rain date will be the 15th September.



State Championship races will be for these categories

Men Open

Men Category 4/5

Women Open

Masters 35+ and 45+ (may be combined into one group)


Championship Races


Day 1

Flying 200 and match sprints (Masters 35+/45+ & Cat 4/5)

Scratch & Kilometer (men) 500 meter (women) (all categories)


Day 2

Flying 200 and match sprints (Men Open, Women Open)

Points races, Individual Pursuit (all categories)

  
Non-championships races will be conducted for juniors between rounds of senior and master riders each day: Scratch races, Unknown distance, Charriot Races, and other races TBD.

Where:  Penrose Park VelodromeThe velodrome is located at the south-east intersection of highway 70 and N. Kingshighway blvd. The entrance drive is located just before the onramp for 70 east bound.

How Much:    Entry will be $20.00 for senior and master catagorties, Juniors will be $10.00

Prizes:   Medals will be awarded to the top three in any category with three or more riders, except for juniors. State Championship jersey awarded to the winner containing fields of five riders or more, except for juniors.

Gang,

There is a high probability of rain tomorrow afternoon. Racing may have to be cancelled early even if the track is dry to ride on. This is because Aaro is the CR and I don't want to make him drive all that way with it being so iffy. The weather report has thunderstorms in the three o-clock hour and we all know how reliable that is.

The best option is to try to hold an easy night with only Vickie there or just have a freebie practice night. We have been rather lucky with only one partial rain out Thursday.

I SAY CANCELLED. Sorry! I am sitting here and hail is raining down on my house. Not track weather. SORRY GUYS!!!!!!

Take tonight and do some crunches, roll them legs, watch prime time tv.... whatever. See you next week!

Bummer so much of the 'good stuff' is on Sunday, I will be headed to Georgia that morning.

I'm going to be gone that weekend too, my last trip up north to train with my coach and team before heading to natz at the end of september.
Q: Do you really sprint with such reckless abandon that you need straps?
