With the season quickly approaching, is anyone interested in some sort of group practice?  Say at Castlewood or something?

I've been thinking the same but on the East side - thanks to the perpetual bridge construction on poplar, Forest park won't be an option for me.

On a side note - I've got 10 wooden barriers I'd like to give away in pairs - 8 are full 16" high (regulation) and 2 are 12" - they are a little over 2' wide (intended as 1 lane practice) and free standing- heavy enough to make you aware you didn't clear them.  Weather treated wood so if you have to leave them out (as I have for several years) they don't rot right away - they are pretty worn but they are somthing to jump...  pm or email if interested.

A few of us practice on Tues and Thurs at C'wood.  Typically barriers and loose course will be set up around 6p.  All levels welcome; kids encouraged.  Typically if there are beginners, one of us will take them aside and work on dismounts, remounts, etc.  It's a good time.   :)

Forest Park practices will start the week following Gateway as usual.  Tuesdays or Thursdays, whatever folks want.

IMHO the week after Gateway is WAY TOO LATE.  with cross races being only a week or two after that.  Now is the time to start practicing. La Vista is already open, and the course at Castlewood is still fresh from the dirt crits.  Why not open and begin at forest park now?
huh?  whats this?

Nothing keeping you or anyone from hitting there.  However, a lot of folks will be putting in time now getting ready for the end of road season activities...like Gateway Cup.

Could do.  I enjoy setting out the course more when there's a posse.  Could start soon, say next week of folks are interested.  Probably would be Thursdays because many do Tuesday night training crits.

true.... however there are an equal number of people who just used the road season as training for CX, and are ready for the switch.
huh?  whats this?

Thursdays sound good to me. Let me know if you are headed out next Thurs, Rich, and I'll come out to help you lay something out.

Practices at La Vista will also be on Thursdays at 6 pm beginning August 16.  The course is always open, so come out early if you want.  Various height barriers will be placed on the course also.  LaVista is located along Route 3 at 2421 West Delmar on the west side of Godfrey.
