I need help getting a cadence reading with my Garmin 500.  It's connected because the corresponding icon appears on the head piece.  I've hit the reset button on the sensor, but there is no reading when I ride.  What do I need to do to correct this?

thanks

If the cadence sensor is the same one that came with my 705, there's an LED that should flash when the magnet passes over the sensor if the sensor's detecting it during set-up. It's been a couple years since I set mine up so I don't remember the exact parameters... but your manual probably spells it out.  It could be that the spacing between the magnet and sensor is too wide, so it's just not picking up.

Replace the battery(if its not new), believe green led "flash" is speed, red is cadance . (maybe reversed). Test, and then rescan for sensor
