Hi all. What time do I need to be there on July 5th for the races?  This will be my first time racing on the track so I would like to get there early and refresh on the very few things I learned on the track the one time I practiced there as well as learn a few more details.  Im coming from 4.5 hours away for this, so I wanted to know if anyone would be willing to show up early for me to teach?

many of us show up between 4:30 and 5 to warm up, sweep the track, and help out first timers and newer riders. assuming we are sticking with a 6 pm start time, a 4:30-5:00 arrival is probably a good target.
"And you should know that by being a racing driver, you are under risks all the time. By being a racing driver means you are racing with other people. And if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you're no longer a racing driver, because we are competing. We are competing to win, and the main motivation to all of us is to compete for victory; it's not to come 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th." - Ayrton Senna

Things to bring:

Fixed gear bike, no brakes, with drop bars
Shoes, it seems slilly but people forget
helmet
LOTS OF WATER
food/ snacks
clothes to change out of after racing

I try to get there at 5 to make sure I am ready for everything, and I will gladly show you the basics. I am the one with the big red beard.

I can help out too. It's gonna be another HOT one, so the Water will be super important. I will get there around 4:30. We usually sweep the track and/or use the leave blower first, but can be ready to ride 15-20 minutes later.

I will be at the track at 4:30 at the latest to set up.
I believe that we will most likely have water jugs and ice. If anyone wants to grab an extra bag on their way out, it would be helpful!

Thanks!

Yes it is another HOFH night at the track. I sure hope this heat wave breaks soon or we'll have to raise the half off temp to 105

The quick schedule

Round One 5 lap scratch for all groups

Round Two Miss N Out

Round Three Snow Ball

Round Four (if so) Handicap

See you all up there after I get some more water and ice.

It is just a little bit harder to get in trouble.........

.........for what I do not say.

Keep cool, O my brothers (and sisters).  I will toast you from the cool shores of Lake Huron (Canada), vodka tonic in hand.
