This is a quick reminder to all creatures of habit out there who might otherwise show up in the HOT HOT HOT afternoon hours this Wednesday

We're running this week's July 4th Goldenberg Heller Wednesday TT IN THE MORNING

Registration starts at 8:30 am. First rider goes off at 10 am

After the race we'll eat up all the stuff we bring to share around and brag about how fast we think we are or could be if we only had more time to train.

I've already fielded several questions from potential first-timers so I also thought this would be a good place to point back to the original All About the Wednesday Night TT Series post

For those of us who have been away for a while, could we get an update on teh status of the door locks for the restrooms at the visitor's center?  Did we get all that addressed?

Also, will those restrooms be available Wednesday morning or should we plan on needing to roll down the road to the next available station (particularly for the pic-nic afterwards.....)

Nobody has complained about the restrooms for many weeks now. I asked recently and learned that we usually end up getting locked out of one each night. That leaves one open. So long as one's open I guess nobody complains  :)

Yes on available restrooms. I got the OK from CBCA before moving ahead with the morning time. They are not open Wednesday, but have agreed to have the restrooms open for us.

That said, we may have a number of first-timers out Wed AM. If you see one of them headed to the restrooms it might a collective good thing to explain how the locks work

You're assuming the regular folks know how the locks work...heck - I had to change clothes in the dark last week because I couldn't get the stupid automatic lights to work!

I guess I'm included in that group....seeing as how I have yet to make it into one of the restrooms.....we had always managed to lock ourselves out of them by the time I got out there. Maybe a referesher on the procedure?

I've never had a problem getting in to one or the other bathroom before and after I race, though perhaps I am done on the early side.

The bathroom light switch seems to be a motion detector in the ceiling. I think it needs at least low light to 'see' you, so if you let the door close, it is a lost cause. With the door half open, wave your hand or a shirt at the round disc in the middle of the ceiling and the light should come on.

The lock is on the inside knob. You have to manually lock it and unlock it. If you lock it, consider hanging your car key ring or a sock or something on it so that you remember to unlock it before leaving. Giving the handle on the outside knob a wag on your way out before the door closes is one way of assuring that it is indeed unlocked.

I'm going to make that part of the FAQ

Oh, and one more thing, save you and everyone in line behind you and us a lot of time.
Do this right now. Then print it out and put it in your helmet*** so you're sure to remember it in the morning

*** Helmet, please. Not your shoe and certainly not your shorts or skinsuit  :)

See you in the morning

This:

is what is with the TT crowd and the restrooms.  We are not the ones who have trouble pee'ing behind a tree.  Our hosts, however, have promised to never ever allow us out there again if they ever again see someone pee'ing behind a tree.....

If nobody twists the button on the locks, no one will be locked out. You can push the button in to lock the door from the inside, but please resist the temptation to twist the button.
