I will be doing the TdC! What kind of pace are you thinking of? If it's as flat as they say it is and not windy, I am hoping for a (solo) total riding time around 5.40 hrs..

I would like to make within 5 hours. If the wind is a non factor, I'm thinking a 20 mph avg. if we have wind, ant 5 1/2 hours.

I'll be there. A few friends of mine that have ridden it multiple times say it can be very windy. I was down in that area yesterday and I see why, there are no hills or any real amount of trees to block any wind. I'll be in a US Army jersey on a black and white SuperSix, probably in the back lol. This is my first century, so I have no idea of the pace I'll have. I doubt it will be at 5 hours, but maybe 5.5 to 6. I plan to take a few rest stops in and enjoy the event.

Hope the weather cooperates too! At the moment the forecast is for 90 F and a 5 mile east wind..
I just wished they allowed riders to start before 7.30am to partially beat the heat..

Look for the Guy in the very large Lynskey....If possible, we can form a St. Louis Peloton and beat the wind....
See you Saturday......

I'll be there. I'll be wearing a US Navy jersey in memorial of a fallen relative.

I rode the TDC several years ago - in 4:58 - the last 60 miles by myself. The only reason I could do it was because I used a Camelback and had "special support" from some of the TDC staff.
I had a guy in a pickup bring me fluids in between rest areas.
If you plan on riding sub-5 - then most likely you need to be comfortable riding at 22-23 for several hours - because between nature calls and rest stops - you'll be off the bike at least 10 minutes....
And be careful - there are several area where drafting will be made trickier my poor pavement....... Good Luck.... I'll be "touring it" in about 6:30 this year.....

Not sure about everyone else, but I had a great ride on the century route. Thanks to the other STL folks that let me join their group, we had a pretty strong pace line for quite a while. Sorry about falling off on the 2nd half, after I took my pull at mile 60 I was toast. Oh well, learned a lot and still had a decent pace. Finished with a total time of 5:26:18 with the rest stops and a moving time of 4:49:16. I'm happy as a total newbie, this was my first ride over 40 miles in my 6 month cycling career.

Great time, stlcards! I finished in 5:11 hrs. Stayed with a strong group-which I think was leading the century- for about 1 hr but the pace was too high for me, so I ended up riding the rest solo. Could have used some draft on the eastwards sections for sure!

Great ride with great support. Sorry for dropping the group but a guy from Marion Il set a horrid pace at 26-27 mph. I just put my head down and hammered. 4 of the group were left at the end. We finished with a time of 4 hrs 40 mins. -avg a little over 21 mph. Thanks for the pull CJ.
