For months, there has been speculation about the future of the Moonlight Ramble as the Gateway Council of Hostelling International headed toward dissolution. Now, it appears its a go for sometime this August.

Read more about it here and from Mark Cockson, the council's last executive director.

I think USADA busted the last two winners for too much Schlafly in their systems,  Does that mean you get to start in the leaders jersey?

The date is set for Sept. 1, but there are no registration details yet at the Ramble's new website, http://moonlightramble.com/

This year's Ramble falls on the same weekend as the Gateway Cup and all of the accompanying recreational rides.

Looks like the 5-Star Century series is also alive 2013! I received an email that said in part:

Dear Friends of the 5 Star Century Series,
As you may have heard, the sponsoring organization of the 5 Star Century
Series, the Gateway Council of Hostelling International-USA, is in the
process of winding up its operations.  As part of our efforts, we have
transferred the 5 Star name and bike ride series to another local nonprofit
organization called Kingdom House.

If you’d like more information about Kingdom House, please visit
their website at www.kingdomhouse.org.

The Kingdom House web site doesn't mention anything; but it's way early yet.

While AYH/Hostelling International may be dead in St. Louis, the best parts of its cycling program is alive thanks to KSHE, Kingdom House, and St. louis Recreational Cyclists for the weekday rides - http://www.stlrc.org/ .

Awww! :-)

From an email just received:

MOONLIGHT RAMBLE POSTPONED AND TO BE RESCHEDULED.

Please be advised the Moonlight Ramble has been postponed  because of the severe weather and heavy rains forecasted for this weekend. Our primary concern is the safety of our riders.  We are currently working on an alternate date and we will notify all riders when we have further details to announce. We will also be posting the information on our website.

Sincerely,

The Moonlight Ramble Planning Team
