Two weeks until the 6th annual Leadbelt XC! Stuff to know about the race,

* With our summer date this year the course is going to be super fast.
* We have some very cool plaques for the top 3 in each class. All classes including kids.
* Seperate kids course which will remain open all day for kids to ride and enjoy.
* Early start times to beat the heat and let folks get home earlier for Fathers Day plans. 9am marathon, 11am All others, 2pm kids. 1   award ceremony.
* All new first 1/2 mile creating a much better flow for the start of each lap.
* All new last 1/2 mile eliminating the need to run the last 6 tenths on asphalt.
* For those interested in preriding, we have the course arrowed sooner than ever before. All 8 miles are now arrowed and can be ridden. Some of the existing trail as well as some new sections still need mowing, trimming and or raking. We will be doing this next weekend and if need be up until race day. More than anyone we want the course as buff as possible.

Thanks to everyone who has ridden this event in the past and we hope to see everyone at the Leadbelt on June 17th.

Hey Maddie, How'd the old man do keeping up with you?  What's your junior opinion of the course?  Us old guys need all the help we can get.

Sounds Great Mark.  I had a blast racing Lead Belt the past two years and I plan to come back this year.  Fun Course!

For SS racers, I run  34-19 set-up on a Superfly 29er.   May try a 34-18 as well.  -Brian

Thanks for the votes on confidence all. I was a little overwhelmed last night with the amount of trimming I had left to do but a good nights rest fixed that. It was good to see Maddie and her dad out there Saturday.

Well, it's like my jersey says " Jack and Jill went up the hills and Jill kicked butt". My poor dad! Of all the other courses i've been on, I think it's most like Greensfelder. I hope some juniors come out and race with me.

Sure can.

Race signup, start and finish is at The Pim Day Use Area, just inside the park HQ/Entrance. The blue arrows can be seen in the woods at the very end of the upper portion of the parking lot. If you have ridden the Leadbelt before these arrows are in a different location. Literally go straight off the top end of the parking lot and a bit to the left.

Directions from St. Louis, I55 south to Hwy 67 south (exit 174B) to Hwy 32 west; go 2.8 miles to left turn on Pimmville road, Brown DNR park signage. Go 2 miles to park entrance. Parking in gravel lot across the road from signup and start.

Race course is 8 miles in length (give a tenth or two). It is almost all single track through typical missouri hardwoods, creek bottoms and open savanah. One longer climb while approaching mile marker 5. There are of course rocks, roots, dirt, sand, gravel and yes more rocks. The course gets little to no ussage between events so under and over growth is always a job to cut back. We are working hard to do so, this weekend being a major work time for us. We have also incorporated some new routes that will improve the course. Corners will be ribboned and additional course markings such as mile markers will be up on race day.

Hey, I've seen that section of trail dozens of times,.....of course i always had a motor and 12 inches of suspension during those races. Looking forward to the race and seeing how the trails look from a different perspective.

Glad to hear you have ridden our events in the past. We look forward to doing this mtb race each year and have some fun with it. We are always open to riders getting involved with either the mtb race or even more so the annual enduro. Hope to see you on the 17th and again at the national in September.
