(KTVI)-Two life-long friends from St. Louis, Kurt Werstein and Lee Hahnel, will bicycle the Oregon and California coast line starting this week. The goal of the 1,250 mile Millennium Ride 2012 is to raise funds for two organizations while completing an epic personal challenge.

Lee Hahnel will be riding to support the Little Sisters of the Poor, who provide care, compassion, and respect to the elderly.  Kurt Werstein has selected National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) as his charity. Funds raised by him will be used in research to develop new treatments for mental health issues.
