At some point between the "car" valve Ksyrium mod, kickstand, flatbar, & jumbo seat, the bike shop should have the legal right to confiscate the bike.

That's awesome... hands down, the best part has got to be the big chainring, though... I'm sure he was spinning out his 53 all the time.

Large size frame [139 mm]???? Is he talking about the bike frame or the seat? 139 mm seat width isn't even large in my book.

Reminds me of this - the world's worst Madone:

I am not sure if it is the saddest or the dumbest. If you want a racing bike get one. If you want a city bike, racing frame and components are just a big waste of money.
This one does not look like a Madone anymore. The better name is the Mad One

Is it wrong to execute such a person?
"And you should know that by being a racing driver, you are under risks all the time. By being a racing driver means you are racing with other people. And if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you're no longer a racing driver, because we are competing. We are competing to win, and the main motivation to all of us is to compete for victory; it's not to come 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th." - Ayrton Senna

There's one clear cut case where it's better to part the bike out

Big Whoop...
The seller spec'd it for himself, for his own purposes, much as each of us do.

Yeah, like you don't see or understand what makes these bikes stand out. Not at all.
Seriously though, I think every shop out there has their version of these guys to some degree. They are, unfortunately, much more common than you think. Often times, someone at the shop HAS talked to them about how "un-needed" and pointless all that stuff is, but if that salesman is smart, he won't push the point too hard or that person will simply go to some place else that will fullfill all their misguided needs.
