I also noticed last night that in that track thread someone named nomoretickets had posted a pretty tacky photo of a Downs syndrome kid winning a race and thinking it was funny with a cruel remark on it - and today it was removed - good!

It is cruel and tasteless.
I hope in time you come to understand why that is so.

So I guess he would regard a poster of a lynching in a similar light?
I agree with rockhound, and especially with my having personal experience with a late relative having Downs. It is not a condition for which others can just play with and use as the butt of a joke.
Obviously nomoretickets has no experience with this or similar conditions; he is fortunate.

And for the record, yes, if there were a funny photo regarding a lynching, or any other of a number of sensitive subjects that was truly funny and not destructive towards it's content (no examples come to mind, but that's why I don't write memes), I would laugh. Why? Because while strongly feeling that racism and biases of all sorts are detestable, I poses a level of self awareness which allows me to laugh at what is instinctually amusing, while also acknowledging that there is a controversial and socially unacceptable element to it. The only difference between me and you is I don't lie to myself about this. Let me guess, now I am a racist and have no experience with people of other races or cultures? Just another exhample of what you do not know about me, or my life, and exactly why you should keep your mouth shut about your opinions on your quest to show just how righteous you are on the Internet forums by belittling someone who disagrees with you on a PIECE OF COMEDIC PHOTO EDITING.
You can say my sense of humor is not your cup of tea and thats fine, because at the end of the day, it is merely my own opinion that something is funny. I only ask that you respect my opinion, and refrain from lambasting me, unprovoked, on an unrelated thread, and then personally insulting and degrading my own life and experiences. KGB, you say I'm fortunte? You do not know the first damn thing about me, my family, or the half of the pain, suffering, and difficulty me, my sister, and my whole family live with. F*** this, I'm out.

Agreed. Again, to me it's scary looking at the poll results to see how many actually voted for banishment.
Since TylerBick referenced it in his post above, I went over the the track forum (a forum I've never been in) and checked out the incident in the "Keirin" post. I don't have a dog in the hunt, but it seems TB instigated the entire argument with CT and Diogenes. Somehow I doubt that the two of them would have felt the need to interject their opinions in the Motor-pacing thread had TB not called them out in that post.

Agreed; I did the same and was immediately disappointed...but at least now I know about motor-pacing at the track, which seems pretty cool.

I asked about motor pacing at the track a couple years ago but never got around to doing it. Now I do mine down in Columbia IL with a friend.

Edited to correct my spelling error, as pointed out by tarmac72. I bet that's not his/her real name...
