Wouldn't this be cool to do before the STL Marathon?   April 15th is the STL marathon.

Meet at the start of the race at 3:45am and the race starts at 4am. Who cares what kind of bike you ride! Everyone bring a 6 pack and winner takes all. Who's in?

I will check out the race map and figure out a good meeting place close to the start. Let's hope we get more reply's. Maybe we shoud do $5 a person winner takes all. There might be someone under 21 or doesn't drink that wants to race.

This is already in the works for an official event. A few people from the St. Louis chapter of the WolfpackHustle rode in the LA race and are planning the St. Louis. More info here: http://www.facebook....fpackhustlestl/

Yeah my roommate Chris was one of the guys who went to LA.

The sponsors have been hooking up the prizes already.

There were some confusing parts of the route, specifically the Forest Park section, but everyone seemed to make it through ok. I got a flat on Delmar just outside of the Loop, and I was in 5th-6th place at the time. Bummer, but it was a great time and we can only expect next year's race to be bigger and faster.

Thanks to everyone that came out and made this event a complete success.

It was a hell of a race, but like mentioned by GMJ, some course confusion made things interesting thanks to every section of the city closing down the roads at different times. I don't think anyone actually made it through forest park without getting lost. There was a strong 5 or 6 person breakaway right off the start. 2 cat2 riders went 1/2 in men's geared. Baby J won 1st mens fixed, and I got 2nd in fixed after falling off the break on the climb up art hill. That was it for the break away group. A few guys found their way in after they found a faster way out of art hill. All together a great race considering it got put together in about 2 weeks. Can't wait for next year!

There's your problem, the course didn't go up art hill!

Care to explain how the course got confusing going through forest park? I'm interested because I was the one that marked it out, me and micah were even marking intersections where you went straight. I thought it was pretty straight forward...

I had driven the course the night before, and where we should have turned right by the muny to go up then fenced off street, we blew past it. We didn't see glow sticks there, and by the time we realized we past it, we just had to make a call to get back on course. Forest park, the turns come so fast, you can't keep an eye on the sheet, and not all. Streets have signs. The glow sticks were hard to catch at race speed through all that twisty stuff
