Does anyone know if Eva Bandman Cyclocross Park in Louisville, KY is open year round?  I scoured the webpage and even called the Louisville parks department, but have found a reliable answer... that is, an answer I'm willing to bet a drive and a hotel room on.

Thanks,

Django,

I don't know for sure but having been there for three events in the last two years I would think that it is open to the public.

Eva Bandman Park is one of two or three parks that line the south banks of the Ohio river. There is/was one drive into that park without any sign of a gate. It does have the sand pits and a steel fly-over installed like it was meant to stay. That said the park will likely be closed at times as they prepare for the elite world championships next year. River road must be closed and numerous buildings need to  This is all speculation on my part but Joan Hanscom would know. She is one of the promoters for the USGP series as well as the world championships.

A simple way to ask her is to use twitter, in fact I have already asked @joanhan that very question.

@swikles

While writing this she has already answered. I relayed your question with my expectation of being open except for prep closings and she said "You are correct. And I can't say exactly when, but at some point they will likely close it for final prep."

    Thanks for finding the answer, 2PiR.  I telephoned the Louisville Parks Dept 3 times and received 3 promises to check on it and call me back.  Needless to say, they didn't call.  But that you and thanks to Twitter, question answered.
