I finally picked up a Kona Major One and was wondering what a good cross wheelset is.  I don't want to break the bank.  Any suggestions?

We've had some pretty good luck with a pretty basic 105/Velocity set, either clincher or tubular.  The A23 clincher rim is really wide so it works pretty well with lower pressures, and the Major Tom is a nice, relatively light tubular rim.  They're 1750-ish grams, $325-ish, hand built.

A23s for clincher setup and Major Toms for tubular.
Though some good prices can be found on used Velocity Escapes

anything. i've seen a lot of other parts broken before wheels. at least on the bubba scene.

I've ridden open pro/ultegra, reflex/wcs, bontrager race x light, easton ec90, ksyrium equipe.  No problems.
