A local television station would like to produce a short story about our track racing. One problem is that it is impossible for them to shoot at the actual time that we race. They are asking for cyclists up at the track on Monday the 13th at 9 am. They plan on working for about an hour. This event is proposed and will need to be confirmed closer to that date.

Are any of you trackie’s up for this? For that matter are there any cyclists interested? I think that being able to ride a brakeless fixed gear would be a must; I do have some extras in various sizes. If enough riders are present then I would try my best to run a race or two.

Can anyone say “Devil takes the Hind-most”???

Somebody's got to be last.  I might be able to swing this.

I'm in!
Q: Do you really sprint with such reckless abandon that you need straps?
A: Yes.

Well, so far I have enough riders for a matched sprint.

I could make it if they started at 10:00. I have to bore my students until 9:30.

I spoke with the reporter and tried my best to convince her that another time would provide much better footage but she indicated that the station's filming schedule and other station limitations trumped all other considerations as far as stories of this nature are concerned. That said, if this does happen we can have a practice day up there if enough want it.

I can probably make it for a little while. I think I can talk my boss into letting me be a few minutes late for the greater good of promoting cycling in St. Louis. I can't promise the full hour, but you never know.

Probably not any help if the station can't do a later time, but I could be available any time after 12:30.

I guess I could get my sorry butt over there Monday morning and drag into work late . . . Steven, can you write a note to my boss!

This is the sort of awareness building we have to do if we want public money down the road.  Probably as important as a work day.

I can and WILL be there Monday am! I am sad to say that it will be day 1 at the rose for me this season, but I look forward to seeing you all! Plus I could use some practice prior to next Thursday, so this is great news!

I will definatly be there, and totally agree with Bill this is a very good step in a lot of our goals to get some more public funds to help maintain the track.

Being that said local television station is a customer of mine, I'm going to schedule this as a "breakfast meeting." I'm there!

We will be riding and talking with Dana Hendrickson and her crew from KSDK on Monday June 13th scheduled for 9 am. They anticipate being there for about one hour. It has been confirmed.

Beside the exposure opportunity, we can have a practice session and even run a race or two. All racers and riders are welcome in fact I have a few bikes that need to be ridden. Shoot me a message for a ailability and sizing and I'll do my best for you to ride. The weather should be good so Lon as nobody does a rain dance.
