The hills on the road course certainly challenged the legs but the death defying decent turned out to be rather exhilarating. No one killed. Hands down, this was the best administered first year race I’ve ever been to. Very good crit course on Sunday and a great crew of officials and helpers. Certainly a race that should be considered in the future. Great Job to everyone involved!

Agreed. Volunteers were at every potentially dangerous turn and intersection directing traffic, I felt safe and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Road race was definitely challenging and fun, looking forward to next year.

It was definitely a great weekend of racing, very well organised, lots of volunteers and marshals and some great courses. Apparently there were concerns about a descent on the road course but I can say as my first race back since breaking my collar bone that I thought there was absolutely nothing on the course that was even slightly dangerous.
Thanks to everyone involved, it was a fantastic weekend of racing. Will be back next year for sure.
Nick.

I have to say, as one of the many volunteers, that this was a great experience and a lot of fun. We will be back next year with some improvements. But I have to congratulate the 100 cyclists that made this the exciting Omnium that it was. I know the people of Southern Illinois were shocked by the high speeds, professional quality and determination that was shown on the various courses.
Everyone has a story about a rider that looked exhausted but kept on going or that went down a hill and made a turn that they wouldn't try in a car. The competitors made this an outstanding event!Congrats to all who competed. See you next year.

Kudos to Russ and crew for making sure that that first section was safe! Your attention to detail made that a great road race course!

As one of the riders at this event I couldn't think of anything that could have been better, except for the small field sizes, which I'm sure will only change next year as this was a fantastic event. The promoters did a great job for this first year event and the incredible amount of volunteers made everything run smoothly.
All the courses were very challenging and not in anyway dangerous, if a rider isn't comfortable descending any of these roads they should rethink their choice to ride in a group. The locations made all stages a lovely experience.
Thanks to all the sponsors, the volunteers, the promoters, and The Davie School Inn Bed and Breakfast for the awesome lodging.

Everyone should consider themselves lucky that I didn't show up on my motorcycle to watch. I probably would have wiped out on my preview lap and left oil smeared all over the road by "dead persons ravine". It might have turned into a repeat of Le Tour de France stage 8. But, I didn't want to jinx the first year race.

We can't say dead man's? Really? Anyway I'm looking forward to your motorcycle crash next year.
