Just wanted to Thank James N. for all of his work and time he put into running the State MTB race today. Awesome!

One thing that rubbed me wrong about the Sport Class was that I thought I had won the 30-39 class, just to find an expert class guy name Justin (number 226) from G-sallo had finished 10+ minutes ahead of the rest of the sport class. How is that winning? That is cheating! I Came to find out that he had sandbagged the sport class last year and won, but do to a technicality (not having a valid USAC license), he was not given the jersey...it went to the 2nd place guy, Rock Wamsley (who one of my good friends, and is racing expert class this year).

So, I talked to Justin after the race and he had a pre-metitated plan to not race any expert class races this season until after the state race, so he could sandbag the sport class today and kill the rest of us by a huge margin to "win" the state champ jersey. This is what he told me! What a D-bag! The rest of us in sport class felt robbed. So, Justin has my State Champ Jersey at his house. But his little girls can't even be proud of him because this D-bag cheated to get it. It is so unethical. I could have raced the beginner class and won myself a state champ Jersey too, but that is not ethical.

Then I found out from other cyclist [that know him] that he has done this in cyclecross and road racing. This guys is a CAT 3 on the road..why are you racing the Bubba cross series in the C class? Come on...that is the beginner class! Maybe you should move up to the expert class in MTB and stop sand bagging sport! Nobody likes people like you! What happened to integrity and moral values? I hope you are proud of yourself for taking my sport class 30-39 state champ jersey. You need some ethics training. I hope you aren't teaching your kids how to be like you, because I feel sorry for them to have such a horrible Dad.

I can tell you all 3 of my kids are of pround of me.... because they know who really won the state champ jersey!

The sandbagging is pretty sad if the whole story is above, but that is not my business. I agree that the race was awesome. Today was my first mountain bike race and I loved it. It definitely won't be my last!

Careful of the stones you throw in public, even anonymously. And at least sign your name if you are going to call a guy out by name.

You're right - more people should upgrade and you have me thinking that if you are the 2008 Burnin at the Bluff "Champion" in the fast (sport) competition maybe you should be in expert this year too?? What gives? To me I think it is pretty dang bold for you to be complaining about others while you do the same thing.

That year at burnin you beat my team by over an hour, a team which was two decent mtn bikers and a cat 3 road guy.

Maybe a better way to go about this and gain some respect is to ask what the guidelines for upgrade are.

I had a awesome time (suffering) not one of my best days on the mtn bike, but still better than being at work...
Anyone know what was in the air down in the fields, i could not breath in that area at all(well almost).
I've had my humble pie, now to get back at it and improve...

Oh, there are "baggers" in every sport...its disapointing but a fact of life/racing...

Not to jump on the bandwagon but he told me the same thing befor the race as well. i was kidding and told him he was a sandbagger and that he would beat all of us, then said he doesnt ride at all but i have seen him out at CW 3 or 4 times in the last week or so doing hot laps with his buddy. Doesnt matter to me if he races Sport or not, but if he continues to race Sport he will get a reputation of being a sandbagger kinda like Mark LaRue in the beginner race some years ago. I know when dirt crits come along he will be racing A, cause Ralph will make sure there are no sandbaggers in those races. If you are fast you race A and so on. See you guys at LV next week.

It was a great race. The weather was brutal and sending us up that hill at the start was mean, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Justin...stop the blatant lies now. You know who I am and you know my name. I talked to several people today at the race about you. They all told me you have a history of cheating and sandbagging. This is not just me being pissed at you for taking my state jersey. We've heard from multiple people about how you are, not just me. So, I am waiting to hear some "facts" from you instead of more lies. I know you haven't raced since last year, b/c you wanted to enter this race to win it knowing exactly what you were doing! You told me and several others you train at CW all the time. I don't have to live with your dirty conscience, YOU do! Maybe we should just agree to disagree and move on. I have learned from trying to argue with certain people that you just can't win, you just have to walk away.

I didnt race today because the rules dictate that you can not race Cat 1 on a one day liscense. And I was not about to pay $60 for the one or two races that I might do this year. And I didnt have the time or patience to race the endurance class.

Damn...I should have just jumped into the Cat2 class...no wait...Cat3! :P

It's a jersey, not the Nobel Peace Prize. Be a bigger man and show some class. Taking shots at someone on the interweb and bringing his family into the mix doesn't seem very respectable. (Ironic, isn't it.) Racing is racing. If you don't like the fact that folks may sandbag, don't race.
