20 year old company / bike friendly workplace / promotion from within - We work in two niche markets: Conference peer review and publishing / And printing for self-publishing authors. I'd love someone who can communicate with clients, knows a little bit about printing or design (just a little) and can become semi-fluent in several different programs - excel / Acrobat and various plug-ins / a little html / and word. Or... someone with some experience copy editing would be great.


Job Description
Job Title: Production Specialist.

General Description: Coordinates the entire production process of Mira’s products, including CD-ROMs and Printed Materials. This position reports to the Project Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Point of contact for internal personnel throughout project set-up, production and completion.
- Coordinate project production schedules through the scheduling software.
- Maintain documentation of project correspondence and product customizations.
- Complete and distribute all necessary forms and files (electronic or hard copy) to appropriate personnel for project production and completion, including, but not limited to: production specification forms, IT Help Desk tickets
- Maintain records of additional charges (rush charges, proofing and editing, customizations, etc.) not outlined in the contract to maintain project profitability.
- Provide final quality checks on all products before releasing to Quality Assurance, Project Managers or customers, including, but not limited to: beta and Master CD-ROMs, material to go to Print.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to team members that will enhance services to Mira’s Customers.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Familiarity with the conference printing/publishing industry/process
- Familiarity with Adobe PDF files, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader
- Visual Basic/HTML/XML programming experience
- Copy Editing Abilty / Experience
