From Pez:

Super Mario Returning To Cycling
Ok, not as a racer, but he wants to get back in the game. Cipollini recently commented that he wants to form a team for young riders that will hopefully be plying the trade come 2007. BiciRace.com quotes The Lion King: "I want to start a team that has a particular identity, easily identifiable with a jersey that will stay the same over the years, independent of the sponsors. A team that invests in the young, also with a structure that remains permanent."

Easily identifiable jersey...oh lord, don't forget, this is coming from Mario Cipollini, easily identifiable. That's going to be a quality kit.

Easily identifiable doesn't necessarily mean outlandish.  The Yankees have an easily identifiable jersey.  The key to creating an identity is familiarity.  As Cipo was quoted saying "easily identifiable with a jersey that will stay the same over the years"

For a local cycling reference I would say CBC is easily identifiable.  Regardless of the neon yellow, they would be identifiable because the design has been consistent over the years.  Whereas, if a new rider saw a rainbow Big Shark jersey or a White, Orange and Blue Clubber jersey they may not know what team it was.

I think I'm going cry. CBC has finally been mentioned on the STLbiking race form.

Hopefully it was meant in a derogatory manner, as all references to CBC should be in the STLbiking forum  :P

thanks for the post eddy

Don't know about his ideas on uniforms but he had a great idea for water bottles.  He required that Cannondale make water bottles for him that were like 32 oz and had a relatively large opening so it was easy to get a drink.  Anyone know if/ where they are still available?

Pros often have many good ideas on how to improve their work environment.
