To everyone in the Cat5 odds race, I was the doofuc in the Blue Jacket #417.  I lost my contact lense about 8 miles into the race. Thankfully there were few turns, but having one good eye made negotiating turns a bit difficult.  Sorry if i upset anyone.

P.S.  I know this was only froze toes and only the cat5 race, so this is NOT a complaint, only a question.  If someone was dropped in the 1st (even) cat5 race, only to be caught by the second (odd) cat5 peleton, could they jump in that peleton because it's another cat5 race? Or should they let the peleton pass and ride in alone because they were in teh 1st (even) race and they are being caught by a peleton from outside their race?

PSS I'd like to join a team, if anyone knows a team willing to take on a cat5 who can still ride ok with one fully functioning eye, let me know.  Thanks

What a moronic comment!

Anyway, to answer one of the questions, many teams in the area have Cat5 teams who would be very happy to have you ride with them: Big Shark, STLCC, and Velo Force, for instance.

Best of luck, and enjoy racing this season. I also recommend doing the Tues Night Crits C races for training/experience once they start up (in April).

Are you looking for that contact lens?  Maybe someone found it.

I'd say go ahead and ride with the second cat 5 group since you would have been racing with them anyway if the original field limit had not been reached.  You shouldn't contest the sprint though since it was not your group.

Ha! . . . . I remember when my Dad had hard contact lenses and would lose them on a regular basis.  Talk about looking for a needle in a haystack . . . .  You could probably race Froze Toes semi-blind though.

I nominate OZ for the best avatar of the year.

Seth, I'm glad you dig my avatar.  I had to shoot myself with a wide angle lens (not eddyvelo's lost contact lens) and eat a lot of spoiled food to get the green effect.  I am going to need an xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxl jersey this year to accomidate my swollen neck.

ouhhhhhhh-hoo-hoo-ho0-hoooo

I left my ha-----t in San Francisissco.  (Left My Contact Lense at Froze Toes.)

taking turns... w/ one eye.., looking for my lens.., that's rich!

I haven't laughed that hard since the GreenTurd3 was in here.

Race in the draft of subsequent heats, just don't work in w/ them.

Mike
