re: "lavosh"
there just has to be someone out there that knows lavosh's true identity. perhaps lavosh even told someone the whole origin of the identity and all who used it in the past. considering ip addresses are known, it' be easy to narrow it down to who lavosh is today. surely there's someone, but who?

If you don't know Jorma, you don't know Jack.

why does anyone care who 'lavosh' or 'tim' is, or if they are the same people?
it doesn't change the nature of the discussion or the arguments, but it makes a nice distraction from the issues. pure ad hominem.

Fatty, You are the man.
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. - Robeert A. Heinlein

Cat 5 entry fee should increase to $80 dollars next year.
This would allow better prize money for the Pro Men AND WOMEN and create a bigger draw.
Also, you could then afford to have a few moto refs partoling the fields and keeping people in check. That would seem to solve a lot of the bickering.
For the record, this was the first year i was unable to make the race.

It would be nice to have more Moto refs for Hillsboro. the problem is that Bill S. is the only qualified Moto ref in the immediate area.
To bring in moto refs from out of state may be cost prohibitive but it is something that Rich & Wanda can check into for next year.
Last year i was in the wheel truck for the 3/4's and at times i was too far away from the riders due to stopping for flats or dealing with crashes. This year i suggested to Wanda that i drive my own vehicle so i could stay close to the field and the riders could know of my presence and act within the rules.
I know at times i made riders nervous by being alongside of them during narrow parts of the course. For this i apologize.
Please realize that even a Moto Ref/Official on the road is limited on what he can or can't do. He has to know where the lead group is, stay with the main field, deal with nthe wheel truck and downed riders. He also has to decide when to move the wheel truck up past either dropped riders and ultimately move the wheel truck past the main field to support the breakaway and chasers.
For instance this year when i had to leave the main field and deal with the issue of the lead group catching and attempting to work with the Masters group just ahead of them. I had to leave the field (on a narrow part of the course), catch the pace car and get info on what had happened (had the 3/4 leaders worked with the Masters or had they just caught them on the narrow part of the course and couldn't seperate safely?) and then drop back to instruct the riders to remain seperated, then wait for the main field to catch up to my spot.
Would this have been easier for a moto ref? You bet. But the bottom line is that a official on the road can only do what is possible and safely. And even then a Moto Ref is not going to see everything that goes on during a race.
Hillsboro is at best a very challenging course for a road official to work. I enjoy it because of that aspect.

I've been in one rolling enclosure race in my entire life, at Joe Martin a few years back. I rode basically the whole race on the left hand side, just because I could. At that race they had police cars with lights flashing in front and behind the neutral and team cars. I think at least a police car or motorcycle would be required in the front of each group. Someone official who can force cars to pull over. Given my experience in race promotion, that sounds like a pretty tall order, especially if you try to do it for all races.
But man, was it nice.
