Folks - Another unfortunate accident out in Chesterfield Valley today.  I received word that Corky Miller & Nicole Burdge were involved in an accident and were clipped by a horse trailer out near Rombach's Farm today.

8:00 pm - Sat.
I just got another update from Kevin Nashan.  They are both in good spirits at St. John's with several injuries.

Nicole suffered a broken collarbone, broken ribs and possible broken elbow.
Corky has a broken collarbone and something going on with his pelvis, but they have to wait for the swelling to go down before they can figure it out.

Sean Oneal was also involved, but didn't injure anything.

Here is what I heard.  Traveling near Rombach's at about 4:00 pm this afternoon, the three were being passed by a dually towing a horse trailer.  It clipped Nicole, Corky and then Sean.  Sean went off into a corn field and Corky ended up knocked out in the middle of the road.  While Sean was helping take care of Corky, the truck just kept driving away.

As far as Kevin knows, no one got any tag info.

Sean - Did I get that right?  Please fill us in on any other details.

Today, Corky Miller, owner of Ghisallo Sports and Nicole Burge, Kona Ironmom were hit by a truck.  They were rushed to St. John's hospital.  Luckily, it wasn't as bad as it could have been. They both broke their collar bones and Nicole broke her ribs. They are being sent home tonight.

The video cameras at the gas station at the wedge should have caught that trailer.  If not, there might be a red light camera at the wedge.

That is an excellent idea.  I heard from someone today that there may have been a driver that witnessed the accident.

Two local athletes were taken down by a large truck trying the "brush back" technique, forgetting there was a horse trailer behind.  Ghisallo shop owner, Corky Miller and Ironman Hawaii Triathlete, Nicole Burge were struck by the traitor on Old Olive Rd. across from Rombach's pumpkin patch Saturday afternoon.  While it could have been much worse, Corky was "Schmatzed" and will under-go surgery to pin back together his pieces of his shoulder.  Nicole suffered a broken collarbone, a broken rib, broken helmet and many scraps and cuts.  To make it worse the Driver DID NOT stop, leaving the scene.  They did get a partial license and description of the truck/traitor, but if anyone knows or hears of anything, pass it on to the Chesterfield police??  Countdown to the completion of the Chesterfield path that will alleviate the need for Old Olive travel altogether……

Get better Corky & Nicole!!!

Wow that is scary.  Will pray for recovery for them and safety for us all.

This is the more scary part. Get well Corky & Nicole, and everybody be careful, there are too many knucklehead evil people out there.
Keep everybody updated about the situation.

Hasn't Old Olive Street Rd. been widened there?  If so, there was plenty of room for this truck and trailer and no possibility that this was an accident.

Did anyone get a better description than "dually towing a horse trailer?"  Color?  Make of truck?  Anything else?

If you were a horse they would have stopped and hugged you and petted you.  It's disturbing that supposedly normal people show such psychopathic tendencies to other humans.

I hope Corky and Nicole make a quick recovery.
Sincerely, B.S.

I'm glad everyone is alive! I hope there will be some serious investigation.  There is something wrong with those horse people.
