Riding in the woods is a fast growing activity among all ages. Castlewood State Park has and is near many types of biking trails for all types of riders. This class will teach your young rider a progression of skills and advance them to be confident mountain bikers based on each rider's abilities. We will also teach bike safety, rider/trail etiquette, and bike maintenance. The Rockwood High School Mountain Bike Club will also be assisting during some nights. Each day's weather will determine the ride. Drop off will be located at the last parking lot near the boat launch. Class meets once per week on Tuesdays.

The Instructor is Jeff Powell a Physical Education teacher with more than 20 years of cycling experience.

Gear Required: Geared mountain bike in safe working condition, helmet and water bottle with holder.
Suggested Equipment: Eye protection such as sunglasses, bike gloves (longer finger is better), hydration back pack (Camelbak) and padded biking shorts.
