Wednesday Night TT

Columbia Bottom Conservation Area
Wed, 2012-06-27

The 2012 Wednesday Night TT Series runs every Wednesday from April 4 through August 29, 2012

Registration will start at 5 pm. We'll get the first riders off as early as possible and the last rider off as late as we can go in order to accommodate any who want to ride multiple times / classes and any who arrive a little later. Basically, come on out and we'll get you registered and running. As long as it's not too dark, we can run time trials.

This is a training series. It's competitive, yes, but it's also a great way to learn how to TT from some of the best the state has to offer, to get TT fitness, to learn about TT equipment and training, and to have a great time. It's also a terrific place to have the series. Columbia Bottom Conservation Area in North St. Louis County is a 9 mile out and back course. It's flat, extremely smooth, and fast with very light traffic, making it the ideal location to test yourself against the clock.

Categories: We're going all-out with the categories this year to give everyone a range of classes in which to compete:

  • Men 1/2/3
  • Men Masters 40+
  • Men 4/5
  • Women 1/2
  • Women 3/4
  • Juniors
  • Men-Merckx
  • Women-Merckx
  • Men Fixed/Single Speed

Prizes: The top 3 point totals in each category at the end of the series win medals. Points will be awarded each night from the bottom up with an extra point for 1st place. For example, in a category
place rider will receive 4 points, 2nd will receive 2 points, and 3rd will receive 1 point.

Registration: $20 for the first time you race, then $10 thereafter. Fee includes $3 USACycling rider insurance surcharge. There is a $5 charge for your 2nd race on any given evening.

What else: Merckx and fixed/single speed categories must comply with USACycling rules for standard mass start road bicycles. Merckx class: Eddie would be proud of you. No aero gear permitted.

All non-Merckx categories: Got aero gear? Bring it. The name of the game is speed.

All participants must wear USACycling approved helmets. The course will be open to traffic and riders must stay to the right. A valid USAC annual license must be presented. USAC annual or 1-day license will be available on site. A current year USA Cycling Rider Waiver and Release form must be signed by the participant and, if under 18, by the parent or legal guardian.
